The KNSO aims to promote the expansion of the performance industry through cultivating video directing and score reading, which have become important fields in the era of visual storytelling. Score reading involves interpreting musical scores to convey the vitality of the stage onto the screen. Through practical exercises in video directing during live performances by the KNSO, participants will experience firsthand the application of score reading beyond theoretical understanding.
Classic Tonmeister
Explore the conductor of recording sessions, known as the Tonmeister! The term "Tonmeister," which translates to "master of sound," encompasses the mastering, mixing, editing, and all other aspects at the forefront of recording sessions. This educational program introduces sound engineering led by Tonmeister Choe Jin. He represents Korea and delves into performance recording scenes.
Criticism and Writing
This course goes beyond the realm of music by incorporating writing. Its aim is not just to offer simple reviews, but also to deconstruct the intricacies of performances, interpreting them from a humanistic perspective within modern trends. The objective is to pave the way for the development of a robust music criticism ecosystem. To cultivate well-rounded professional critics, this course extensively covers various genres, including orchestral music, chamber music, ballet, and opera.
