Korean National Symphony Orchestra
1985년 국내 최초 민간 교향악단인 코리안심포니오케스트라로 출발한 국립심포니오케스트라는 관현악은 물론 오페라, 발레를 아우르는 극장 오케스트라로 독보적인 음악세계를 구축했다. 2001년부터 문화체육관광부 산하 예술 단체로 지정되어 국립오페라단, 국립발레단, 국립합창단, 국립현대무용단과의 활발한 협업으로 관현악·발레·오페라를 아우르는 극장 오케스트라란 독보적인 위치를 굳혔다.
신한류 흐름 속 급변하는 예술 환경에 능동적으로 대응하는 국립예술단체의 역할을 수행하고자 2022년 국립오케스트라로 새 역사를 시작했다.
연 100회 연주로 국민의 문화향유 확대를 위해 폭넓은 레퍼토리로 국민에게 다가가고 있으며, K-클래식을 이끌 연주자·작곡가·지휘자를 위한 교육 사업으로 인재 양성에도 힘쓰고 있다.

Korean National Symphony Orchestra
The National Symphony Orchestra, which started as Korea's first private symphony orchestra in 1985, has built a unique music world as a theater orchestra that encompasses not only orchestral music but also opera and ballet. From 2001, the orchestra was designated as an art group under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, conducting a wide rage of activities including orchestral music, ballet, and opera.
Revamped as the Korean National Symphony Orchestra (KNSO) in 2022, it is excelling in its role as a national arts organization that actively adapts to the rapidly changing entertainment arts trends amid the new Korean Wave.
